Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to join our CPA firm. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping and accounting, a keen eye for accuracy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. As a Bookkeeper/ Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing transactions, and supporting the accounting team in ensuring the accuracy of financial data.

Staff Accountant Duties and Responsibilities
-Record daily financial transactions, including sales, receipts, payments, and other financial activities in the accounting software
-Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and petty cash balances regularly
-Maintain the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are posted and categorized correctly
-Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process by preparing adjusting entries as necessary
-Generate and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
-Maintain organized financial records and documentation for auditing purposes.
-Process and file payroll reports, sale tax reports and ensuring compliance with tax and legal requirements.

Education and Experience
-Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
-2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar role
-Experience with accounts payable, receivable, and payroll management
-Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
-Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
-Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks On-Line, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero)
