Job Description

Accounts Payable Associate Location: Newport Beach CA Your Key Responsibilities Include: Input invoice daily – ensuring all approvals are received and invoices are properly recorded to the correct general ledger accounts for all four entities. Perform weekly check runs for all four entities. Issue Positive Pay for all check runs processed. Initiate wires and ACH transfers for certain vendor payments. Process FHA and VA payments daily on closed loans when applicable. Reconcile Appraisal costs at month-end. Accrue for various month-end payables. Process employee expenses and company credit card expenses. Crosstrain in other duties of the Accounting Department. Prepare general ledger reconciliations related to accounts payable. Provide support and assist with projects as needed. Assist with annual state filing and audits. Perform other duties as needed or assigned. What You Have: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with internal departments and external customers, vendors, and suppliers. Experience working in a Shared Services environment with strong customer service skills. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Enthusiasm to learn new things and take on additional responsibilities. Approachability and a willingness to help the team. Residential homebuilding/construction accounting experience preferred. Your Education and Experience: ~ Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel. ~ Associate Business/Accounting Degree preferred. ~3 - 5 years of Accounts Payable experience. ~ Knowledge of Encompass and Loan Vision (industry software) is a plus. ~ Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of employees. ~ Must have exhibited initiation skills. ~ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. ~ Ability to manage multiple projects. ~ Strong verbal and written communication skills. ~ Prior experience working in a fast-paced, month-end-driven environment.
